Here's a flightpin I made. Steampunk-ish with a wrench in the center. It turned out better than I thought it would so I may make some more of them. Any suggestions on items to put in the center? I'll probably make one with cogs/gears in the center also...

Made out of: pre-bought metal wings, sculpey, and paint.

(ps. That is one shiiiiny quarter... )

I'll definitely have to make my own that's really cool. I have a plastic pin with wings on it that says Eastern but I'm going to paint over that and put some sort of charm over it

Micheal's Craft store. -- It's in with the jewelry (I tried to find it on their website but couldn't). The brand is called "Heart & Soul" and there should be a whole little section of metal charms from this brand. You can get both silver and gold wings.

I really like it. As for ideas...puffy cloudy thing..like smoke? Or something that looks like pipes? Or smoke + pipe = smokestack. Compass.. either kind. Old looking clock with Roman numerals! I imagine that'd be hard with something this small, though. Back when I first heard about steampunk, I always pictured crazy older-looking steam engines (kind of like [link]) and cars that looked like horse-drawn carriages...but were motorized somehow or had mechanical horses. Um, so maybe something related to those? Also...when I think about steam punk..everything I see is in shades of brown..with maybe some gold. Even people. :\
